Chapters 1-3 Summary
The "Airhead" series tells the story of Emerson, an average girl, who had a freak accident and whose brain has been transplanted into the body of supermodel Nikki. In "Being Nikki," the second book in the series, Em tries to figure out exactly what happened and why Stark, the company for which Nikki works, has an interest in keeping her alive, but with somebody else's brain. The book opens in the midst of a photo shoot, as the photographer tries to capture the perfect shot while Em struggles in the cold water. Brandon Stark, the real Nikki's boyfriend and now her ex, watches from shore. Em wonders how bad it would be to actually die, but worries about who would take care of Nikki's - and now her - dog, Cosabella. In the end, though she plunges into the icy water...
