Summary
A man named Junpei tells his young niece Sala a story about a honey bear named Masakichi. Masakichi a honey salesman, and he has no friends in the world because the bears dislike that he is capable of handling money while the people dislike the fact that he is a bear. Sala’s mother, Sayoko, comes into the room as Junpei is explaining that Masakichi gets all of the supplies he needs from a big mountain where the townspeople throw things they do not want off the side. Sala thinks for a while and then asks why Masakichi does not sell honey pies; she thinks it would make the townsfolk like him more.
After Sala falls asleep, Junpei and Sayoko move to the kitchen and share a beer. Sayoko thanks Junpei for coming by and tells him he is the only one that...
