Summary

Chapter 9 – At rehearsal the next day, Ariela teases Gerald about Enzo, much to Gerald’s chagrin. That sense of unease increases when Enzo and Gerald are cast in a scene together, Gerald worrying about whether he will be able to concentrate. He also wonders why Enzo seems to be avoiding eye contact with him. Later, though, on a break, conversation with Enzo reveals that he has a boyfriend, and that there has not been much sex with him for a long time. Gerald impulsively leads him to a dark corner outside, where they fumblingly start to remove each other’s clothing and both say they have something to tell each other. Their encounter, which includes arrangements to meet again later, is interrupted by shouts from inside.

Gerald and Enzo race back in to discover one of the technicians has had an accident. Later, after...
