Summary
Chapter 6 – A few days into Bill's meticulously slow rehearsals, Gerald wakes up early, and realizes he has to see a doctor about his worsening mosquito bites. He seeks the help of a friendly, Italian-speaking production assistant (Annelisa), who quickly gets him in to see an elderly local doctor. As he conducts his examination, he asks Gerald what medications he is on. As Gerald lists them, he realizes he is identifying himself as having HIV/AIDS, and notices Annelisa looking discreetly out a window. The doctor tells Gerald that one particular medication makes him sensitive to the sun, and that he has to both stay in the shade and stay covered up. Later, after Gerald has applied some ointment and, dressed in a long sleeved shirt, long pants, and a hat, he walks up the hill to rehearsal. As he does so, he reflects on...
