Chapters 25 and 26 Summary

Ted picks Maybe up in the Rolls. Maybe assumes that Ted is moving out of the garage apartment and has found them their own place. When she says this to Ted, he remains silent. Ted pulls up to a beautiful house with a bunch of gas windows. A model-like woman answers the door and seems to recognize Maybe. When they go inside, there are pictures of Chessy and maybe all over the walls. The woman says "he" will be back soon and she's sure they want to catch up.

An hour later, Sammy, Chessy's husband that she married twice walks n the door. This is Maybe's favorite of the husbands and she always though Sammy would adopt her, so when she sees him, she runs into his arms. Maybe tells Sammy about getting in a fight with her mother, but doesn't...
