Chapter 25 Summary

Lirael and Dog run through the Seventh Gate with a fiery man chasing behind them. As they enter the Eighth Precinct, Lirael has to cast a spell to fight off the flames of fire coming out of the water at them. Lirael admits to Dog that she Hedge.

Dog and Lirael make it to the Ninth Precinct. Here, the stars call out to the Dead. At first Lirael raises her arms to the stars and elevates off the ground. As Dead get swept up into the starry sky, Lirael returns to her senses. Dog tells Lirael that she should do what she came here to do. Lirael takes the Dark Mirror out. When she sees that the Destroyer has the power to kill everything and that it hates all living things, she urges Dog to hurry because they don't have much time left...
