Chapter 24 Summary

Nick tries to get to the locked unit where the nine junction boxes are. What's inside of him wants him to check on the progress of the hemispheres, but Nick is too weak. Mogget comes for Nick. Mogget turns into the little white albino man so he can carry Nick away since Nick is too weak to walk on his own.

Mogget says they're going to watch the joining of the hemispheres. Nick says he can show Mogget how to stop it, but Mogget says it's too late. As they see the hemispheres on flatbed railway cars, Nick feels the sliver in his heart. The sliver starts to take the same path it had taken when it had been put in there the year before.
