Summary
In Chapter 37, as Harriet attempted to run from her fear, she ran directly into a corpse hanging from a tree. Harriet screamed and screamed. Through her screams, she let out all of the times in her life she had been belittled, marginalized, made fun of by boys, and left out by girls.
Amelia heard Harriet’s scream and ran into the forest to try to locate her.
As Harriet lay on the ground, she thought about her life and made a decision. If death was coming for her, she was not going to meet it lying down. She started to stand, but heard a noise that scared her so much she fell back to her knees. Her hands landed on a thick tree branch. She picked up the branch and turned to face the frightening noises behind her.
Meanwhile, Amelia saw a dead...
