Summary
In Chapter 25, Gamache questioned Robert about the hymn he was humming. Robert pointed out the sheet music to The Waters of Babylon in the painting. Robert also pointed out the falling bridge of Quebec with bodies dropping from it at the moment of its collapse depicted in the painting. Gamache remembered the ring from the basement and knew it was not a coincidence. He had an idea of who was behind what was happening. Robert asked Gamache what was wrong. Gamache wanted to tell him who he had last heard humming that hymn, but chose not to.
Armand told Reine-Marie that he needed her to go to England. He wanted her to see The Paston Treasure in person, and he wanted her to be safe. She agreed to go. Gamache sent Amelia with her because no one would guess she was a police...
