Summary
In June of 1944, Virginia traveled to the south of France – specifically, to the Vivarais plateau in the Haute Loire, an area of harsher landscape and climate than much of the rest of the country. There, after moving through a few significant obstacles, including potential allies uncertain of her identity and ability, she eventually made contact with the local Resistance circuit, led by a man named Pierre Fayol. She and her firm, experienced manner eventually convinced him that she could bring his circuit much needed weapons and supplies, and that she would return as soon as she could. She then returned north and resumed operations there, eventually being assigned her own circuit but refusing to take command, there being too many projects she had left to supervise.
