Summary

In Chapter Fifteen, Erec and the others ride in through the gates of Savaria just in time to escape the Covenies. These creatures easily tear the gates of the city off their hinges. Although the archers are able to kill several of the creatures with arrows, more and more come to work at the iron bars. Erec and Brandt leave the city by the back way, deciding to try to attack the creatures from the back as well. Even though Erec and Brandt fight valiantly, they are still being overcome by the creatures at the end of the chapter.

In Chapter Sixteen, Selese decides to go after Reece. Even though she had spurned him, she realizes that she loves him just as he loves her. She is preparing herself to leave when she hears the noise of thousands of insects running away. She...
