Importance: Grandpa's words are an indication of his complete belief and trust in Stalin. The limited perspective means the reader never knows for sure if Grandpa really believes this is true. If could be that the words are lip service because he knows those beliefs are necessary to avoid punishment. More than likely his words come from a deep belief in them.
