Summary
Wynkle reveals that he was the one to bring her to Jas Jonski. He also tells Winona that he took Tennyson’s rifle and sold it to Zach Petrie. The older Wynkle orders his son to grab Winona but she runs away. Briscoe seems to be moving on well from the tragedy of losing his home. His optimism gives Winona hope that her own future will be able to improve.
In Chapter 16, Rosalee asks Winona to speak with Tennyson because she is the only person he will listen to now. He spends most of the day now drawing, and he still does not speak. Winona feels as though he trying to tell them something about his attackers through his art, she is still unsure. She curls up in bed with Rosalee while she thinks about what Tennyson could be trying to tell them...
