Who Speaks for the South? Summary and Analysis
From the time of the founding of the country, a disenfranchisement of peoples has existed. The poor and landless were first to obtain their right to vote. Next, women were able to obtain that political and freeing right. It was now time for the Negro to obtain enfranchisement so they can vote in all parts of the country. Men and women have died because of their desire for the right to vote. Their blood is on the hands of all Americans, for if all Americans stood up for the freedom and rights of the Negro, all citizens of the United States would discover justice.
