Summary

Chapter 50

Mrs. Asher finally finds Will at the train station. Will explains that he was looking for his ferret, Sally. He says that Sally was too important for him to lose. Mrs. Asher softens and understands what Will means. She decides to take Will to the convention center so they can watch Cady’s performance.

Chapter 51

The Owner forces his way into the convention. The chef at the door tries to stop him, but he’s able to push by her.

Will is finally reunited with his mother. At first she is upset, but she understands where he is coming from when he talks about just trying to find his ferret. She is likely thinking about her last night in Africa, where she wanted to find something that was important to her, and took the bone.
