Summary

Chapter 48

Marigold and Zane travel with the mysterious merchant. He speaks to Zane and asks why he was stealing items from the emporium. Zane explains what happened with the apartment. The merchant in kind tells Zane that he only crashed because Zane spit out the window and happened to hit him, causing that crash. He assures Zane that it was an accident, and that Zane shouldn’t feel responsible. He also adds that Zane’s principal was fired, and he believes Zane will have a good school year after the summer. Zane is surprised, but before he can ask about it, the merchant announces they have arrived at the convention center. He tells the children they might be needed below.
