Summary

Chapter 44

Zane gets hit by a car, driven by The Owner. The Owner stops and screams at them. Zane’s suitcases are tossed aside, releasing all of the stolen items he has taken. The Owner is furious and starts to blindly throw things, accidentally hitting Marigold. Zane becomes angry and lashes out at him, but The Owner acts first and uses his ability to steal Zane’s Talent.

Chapter 45

Cady searches through the crowd, trying to find some hint of Miss Mallory. One of the cooks asks her what she’s going to make. Cady likes to see the judge first to feel what the right cake might be. She’s surprised to learn that there are going to be five different judges this year, and she isn’t sure what she is going to make.
