Summary

Chapter 38

The Owner is furious when he discovers that Cady and Toby have left. He is determined to get her Talent. He gets a call from Miss Mallory, asking if Cady and Toby have left for the convention center where the baking contest is taking place. Mason tells her that they have, and he, too, makes for the same convention center, intent on finding Cady.

Chapter 39

Will continues his adventure, stumbling onto the train station. He sneaks on board, still excited to be going on an adventure, even though he is starting to feel like he is lost for the first time.

This chapter serves to set up how Mason is able to figure out where Toby and Cady are going. It also reintroduces the character of Miss Mallory, who has been absent for several chapters.
