Summary
Chapter 30
Zane continues to steal from the emporium. He sneaks into The Owner’s room and feels compelled to start taking the seemingly empty jars, not knowing they actually contain other people’s Talents.
Chapter 31
In this short chapter, the mystery merchant brings Will to the Museum of Natural Sciences, promising him a grand adventure.
Analysis
Chapter 30
Zane steals the collection of Talents that Mason has kept for himself. This chapter foreshadows their eventual conflict later on, where Zane is able to use all of the Talents as a distraction to keep Mason away from him.
The theme of Labels is continued in this chapter as the reader sees Zane still very willing to steal in order to prove that he isn't deserving of the 'worthless' label that his principal has given him. Additionally, while Zane doesn't know that the jars contain stolen...
