Summary

Chapter 26

Zane is upset that Marigold ratted him out. However, he keeps searching for things to steal, going through Toby’s room. He doesn’t find anything, but the reader discovers that Toby has a picture of Mrs. Asher’s hairpin framed in his room.

Chapter 27

Cady makes a small cake to bring to The Owner. At first he dismisses her, but when he has the cake he can taste the familiar peanut butter. He demands to know where she got the recipe. Cady shows him the recipe that she found, making him ecstatic.
