Summary

Chapter 13 is titled “Pitch Perfect.” James felt there was more structure with selling the magazine. He worked Monday through Saturday, with a new magazine being issued each Monday. He discovered he had to operate on the premise that selling the magazine was a business. He had to buy the magazines he was going to sell, meaning he had to save that much money each day. He needed enough magazines to take advantage of “willing buyers” but could not return to unsold copies, meaning he had to judge how many he needed.
