Summary

Chapter 8 is titled “Making it Official.” James felt he needed to take the next responsible step and have Bob microchipped. He felt it would ensure they could find each other if they became separated. He knew that it would at least alert someone to the fact that Bob had “been in a loving home” (107) if something happened to James. He learned that a Blue Cross van inserted the chips at cost on Thursdays. James found it would cost 15 pounds, and that he could pay it out. They waited in line for an hour and a half.
