Summary
Chapter 6 is titled “One Man and His Cat.” Bob woke James the next morning, banging on cupboards in his search for food. James had locked the cabinets to keep Bob out. James thought about taking the day off after the profitable evening before, but he knew he soon had bills due. He was about to leave Bob in the flat when Bob rushed to join him. James did not plan to “exploit” their friendship by trying to make Bob go, but a short distance from the flat, Bob caught up. James used the shoestring again but felt conspicuous considering the number of people who stared at them. Again, they garnered a lot of attention, a stark contrast to the lonely existence James was accustomed to living.
