Chapter 70, Jon Summary

The fighting between the Night's Watch and the wildings continues at the Wall. Jon Snow receives reports of something Mance is building. He uses a telescope to search the wilding camp and discovers Mance is building a giant, fortified turtle for the attackers to hide under as they approach the Wall. Jon is worried because the Watch is almost of out arrows, pitch, and other weapons. The wildings approach in the turtle, and nothing breaks it until Jon orders barrels of gravel and ice dropped on it. Jon goes to get some sleep.

When he wakens, he is taken to the commander's chamber, where Janos Slynt accuses him of joining the wildings. Jon explains how he was following orders form Qhorin, but Rattleshirt, the wilding who captured Jon, explains how Jon told him he killed Qhorin. Maester Aemon tries to speak...
