Chapters 146 - 150 Summary
Mark drives to Peter's and Peter follows him back where he sits at Sean's desk, writing swiftly. More than the killing of John Anders, there is forging of documents, bribery of high officials, abuse of public office and two attempts on Mark's life. Afterward, Peter reads it back. Two copies are made, and Hobday signs them both. Sean puts one copy in his safe and tells Peter to keep the other one. Then he asks Mark to call the doctor to look after their witness. By two in the morning, the doctor arrives and Ruth tells Sean he should go to bed. The phone rings, and she picks it up to hear a voice tell her that Storm was in an accident. Ruth's grandson was killed outright, but her daughter is critical. Ruth sways turning white and Mark catches her before...
