Chapters 136 - 140 Summary
They find the lioness but she is alert to danger. When she gets up giving Mark the shot, he is unable to pull the trigger. He lies there sobbing while Pungushe waits. Mark goes to Sean who shows him articles in which Dirk is using Marion's death as a reason to develop the area. He takes the clippings and retreats to his room to read the one that caught his eye on the back of one. It extols the virtues of a new artist, Storm Courtney, and her upcoming exhibition. Mark reads and rereads the partial article, then puts it in his wallet and sleeps. The next day, he goes to her home and finds a Zulu nanny with John. John recognizes him and half an hour later, he returns him to the nanny to his wails of protest and heads...
