Chapters 126 - 130 Summary
Mark returns to Chaka's Gate and sitting with Pungushe asks him if he remembers the day he pulled him from the water. He asks if he saw the man who shot him, or the body of the man he'd killed. Pungushe tells him it rained so hard that there was no sign.
The Prime Minister loses his seat, and Dirk Courtney wins for the National Labor Party. The only sign of change at first is that Mark submits his paperwork to the new Minister of Lands, but before long, he gets a letter that tells him to consider his post as warden temporary.
