Chapters 86 - 90 Summary

Mark goes to Marion to break their engagement, but she insists she'll wait for him. He heads back to Lion's Kop.

Dirk asks Sean to meet with him, and Sean chooses the place where their properties adjoin. He goads Sean relentlessly, but Sean keeps control until Dirk tells him that they are the same. Sean tells Dirk he will be sure to see to it that Dirk never gets any property past the Bubezi River. Dirk tells his father it may be the fight of their lives, refers to Sean's wife as a whore, and gallops off. Sean walks his Stallion to where Mbejane is buried, and greets his old friend. He knows Dirk killed him, but can't prove it.
