Chapters 76 - 80 Summary
Harry Fisher charges a shopkeeper as a traitor, and says they should shoot him. Two men drag him out, but neither is able to carry out the sentence so Helena does. Fergus tells them the Prime Minister is traveling by road without escort. The Prime Minister is so anxious to get into the action, he refuses to take a circuitous route into Johannesburg for safety. Sean relents on the condition the Cadillac act as decoy out front. Before long, the Cadillac is under fire, forcing its way through a barricade, for Mark to follow. Damaged, the Cadillac might have continued, but the assault from a Vickers gun that follows leaves all three men in the Cadillac cut to ribbons before the car hits a wall. Mark takes evasive action, but the Rolls is stopped. He takes the hunting rifle and runs...
