Chapters 31 - 35 Summary
Dicky is thrilled - his commission is ten pounds. That night, Mark continues his research of the Courtney line. The landlady has a letter for him, and surprised he opens a note from Marion Littlejohn of the Companies Office in Ladyburg. He asks for a photograph of her, and the next letter that comes includes not only a picture, but twenty-five pages as well. She asks him for a photo as well.
Mark draws out the family trees of the Courtneys, the Pyes and the Petersens. He maps out properties that link them and shades in the Courtney's. When he shades in Andersland, he can see the boundary follows the river. On his next trip to Ladyburg, Mark will play the part of Cuthbert.
