Summary
Hugh is bored while processing a stolen car case. His phone rings. The caller is Annabelle, his ex-wife. She has called to wish him a happy birthday. She asks about Wren and asks Hugh if he is happy. He can still picture everything about Annabelle and wonders how long it takes to forget the details when you lose someone.
Wren gets out of health class by telling the teacher she has cramps. Instead of going to the nurse’s office, she leaves the school and gets in Bex’s car.
