The Reflecting World symbolizes the consequences of the climate crisis. In Little Badger's imagined narrative realm, everything that happens on Earth impacts the life forms in the Reflecting World. Therefore, when the Dallas toads are nearly wiped out after a hurricane, the Dallas toad population in the Reflecting World similarly suffers.
