Point of View

A Snake Falls to Earth is written from both the first and third person points of view. Over the course of the novel, the chapters alternate between these narrative vantage points. Those chapters titled with Nina's name and age or name and location in time are written from a third person limited point of view. In these chapters, the third person narrator follows Nina's perspective and traces her experience as she comes of age and anticipates the hurricane approaching Refuge County.
