Summary
“Searching for Elijah” follows the life of a woman named Malini and her son Amar. After the death of her first husband, Neel, Malini begins dating a Jewish man named Stephen Cohen whose sweetness and aptitude with Amar’s care charms her. The relationship presents only one problem, however: Mrs. Cohen, Stephen’s mother, quietly demands that Malini convert to Judaism in order to join the family. Rather than telling Stephen, Malini agrees to privately go through with the process under Mrs. Cohen’s supervision.
