Summary
Book Three: XII opens as Sylvie sulks and Lucien talks to Le Brun about hunting. The conversation shifts to Lucien’s hatred of Abraham Lincoln. Le Brun asks why they should not end slavery and Byron says it is best for Black people. Lucien compares it to French colonies and talks about how happy the slaves are during Christmas. Le Brun is stunned and Sylvie says their slaves would kill them if they lost their purpose.
