Summary

“The Sweat” is about a drug-fueled hookup between Tommy and Frank. Tommy heads to Frank’s “to pick up various things, deliver his freezer bag, hopefully have a cold drink, maybe even a shower” (62). Tommy continues to make his way, with the narrator repeating “The route between work and home like a corridor” (65). Tommy arrives at Frank’s and they reintroduce themselves to each other. Tommy asks for a shower and Frank takes Tommy to the bathroom and helps Tommy undress. After the shower, Frank tells Tommy that he put Tommy’s clothes in the wash. The men have a drink and Tommy sees drug paraphernalia on the table. Tommy is concerned about his phone and wallet. Tommy goes to check the wash. Tommy calls Sammy and Sammy tells Tommy that Tommy was concerned about losing the wallet and phone...
