Summary

“The Sweat” is about a drug-fueled hookup between Tommy and Frank. Tommy heads to Frank’s “to pick up various things, deliver his freezer bag, hopefully have a cold drink, maybe even a shower” (62). Tommy continues to make his way, with the narrator repeating “The route between work and home like a corridor” (65). Tommy arrives at Frank’s and they reintroduce themselves to each other. Tommy asks for a shower and Frank takes Tommy to the bathroom and helps Tommy undress. After the shower, Frank tells Tommy that he put Tommy’s clothes in the wash.
