Summary
In Chapter 34, Godfrey is in a tavern with a couple of his friends and several of the men from the region. He is suddenly struck by how juvenile his friends are and wishes that there was some meaning to his life. It’s a feeling that has been growing within him recently as he deals with his current situation. Godfrey moves down the bar to be farther from his friends and overhears a plot to attack King’s Court. Godfrey quietly gets the attention of his friends and orders that they follow him out of the bar. Once outside, they rush to a high place and see that the McClouds are massing troops, making it likely that what Godfrey overheard was correct.
