Summary

Twin sisters Yvette and Yvonne Crawford grow up in the remote dusty town of Ranger, Texas, two hours east of Dallas. Once a boomtown for the post-war oil industry, Ranger was now more a ghost town, the oil strike long since dried up. Their father, Peter, worked through a series of odd jobs until in the mid-1940s an oil company found a deep reservoir on his farm property. Since then, Peter socked away millions.
