Point of View
The point-of-view of the novel is first person. This is important because it is such an emotional novel, and seeing the situation through Vicky's eyes helps the reader connect to everything that's happening. Vicky is a writer and poet. The rest of her family is more focused on science. Because the family is so close, Vicky talks with them and listens to their scientific conversations.
