Summary for Chapters 7-9 Summary
Chapter 7. Vicky gets of bed the next morning and writes a poem for Ynid. It is very early, and Adam calls to see if she can meet him for breakfast. Over breakfast, they discuss dolphins and language. Adam thinks there might be other ways that the dolphins communicate. He wants to know what she thinks, not as a scientist, but as a poet. He says that Basil might have connected to her quicker because wild dolphins are more apt to make friends with children. She protests that she isn't a child. The two decide to name the new dolphin Norberta. After breakfast, they go to check on the dolphins and are happy to see that Ynid is eating. They realize that she did this to please Jeb.
