Summary
Chapter 29
Gwendolyn, victorious, oversees the hanging of the evil members of Tirus’s family, including Falus. She orders the bodies ot be left up, so the Upper Islanders know who rules their domain, now. Reece and Stara go for a hike to the highest cliff on the island. Yet, Gwendolyn and the others know that the invasion is coming, as Romulus will most assuredly come after them. They light a mourning candle for Serese and set it down the Stream of Tears. They apologize to each other. Gwendolyn goes to see Argon, protectively watched over by Ralibar. Argon is alive, but weak. Argon tells her the island cannot be saved, and that Thor has his own destiny. He tells her there is nothing left to do but prepare to die.
