Chapters 3-6 Summary
In Chapter 3, Marguerite chastises Lissianna for unwrapping her birthday present. Lissi objects that she didn't actually unwrap him and that she was feeding on him only to soothe him. Marguerite says she put the full whammy on him but that he must have a strong mind. Lissi tells her mother and Thomas that she is unable to read his thoughts: "Lissianna hadn't really tried to read or control his thoughts as intended, she'd been too busy enjoying the moment, but from the brief connection, she'd got an imprint of his mind. It was a mixture of confusion, desire, intelligence, and an honesty and character that appealed to her" (Chapter 3, p. 22).
Lissi does not mention that she got carried away. Suddenly Lissi wonders who was doing the seducing.
