Summary
As Hadia’s wedding beings, Rafiq and Layla see Amira with Amar but notice that Amira is the only one speaking. Amira had left for college years prior and Layla sees her as a confident young woman. As Layla watches Amira, Layla feels that she has forgotten something, but does not know what. Meanwhile, Amar is stunned that Amira asks him to meet in an empty corridor on the other side of the hotel. Amar hates that all of his efforts to pretend he does not love her has immediately gone away.
Hadia sits with Tariq on stage at her mother’s instruction and pretends to not be in love with him. Hadia thinks it is absurd that women are expected to accept marriages while pretending that they do not want to be married. Layla is concerned that Hadia will bring shame...
