Letitia / Charlotte Blacklock
Letitia or "Letty" is a woman of sixty. She's a pretty woman but rather plain. She has the mind of a man. Mrs. Goedler says of her, "she hasn't any feminine feelings or weaknesses". She owns and runs her household named Little Paddocks. She has a sister (Charlotte), and is the daughter of a very strict, traditional doctor. In her youth, she takes a job in the financial field as an assistant of the very successful Mr. Goedler. She even helps Mr. Goedler in his business. She lends him money and guides him in his decision making, which causes him to treat her as a partner more than an assistant. Because of this, she is put in his will. She left to care for her sister when her father dies.
