After dinner at Little Paddocks, conversation of the murders dominates the conversation. Patrick proposes his amateur conclusions to the point where Miss Blacklock begs for sanctuary from the topic of murder. Mitzi refuses to make dinner out of fear of the murders being committed. Julia steps up and actually cooks for a change.
Craddock takes statements from Julia, Mrs. Swettenham, and Mrs. Easterbrook to account for where there were during Miss Murgatroyd's murder. Mrs. Swewttenham announces that she was cleaning the gutters. Mrs. Easterbrook says she was listening to the radio with her husband, but Colonol Easterbrook says that's simple not true. She seems suspicious in her subsequent statement about only taking a short walk. Miss Murgatroyd was the only one who could see anything from her placement in the room.
