chapters fifteen and sixteen Summary
Miss Blacklock plans a birthday party for Miss Bunner and gives Mitzi several instructions. Mitzi makes her cake and objects to Patrick's name for it: "Delicious Death". Miss Bunner gets several gifts and everybody comes over for a party. She's beaming and truly enjoying herself.
Talk of the recent murders fills the conversation again. Edmund says that they are all under suspicion for the intent of murder, but later insists his statement was a "joke". Miss Blacklock questions Phillipa about looking worried. Miss Blacklock guesses Phillipa's anxiety derives from insubstantial money for her son's education. To calm her nerves, Miss Blacklock puts Phillipa in the will after Bunny's portion. Phillipa protests and questions why not Patrick and Julia. Julia overhears the conversation and has a confrontation with Phillipa.
