Summary
Chapter four opens on April 24th, the day that the Klebold family cremated Dylan. It was a day that was already filled with grief and sorrow but was complicated further due to the family’s growing concern over security and privacy. Unlike normal families of suicide victims, the Klebold’s did not possess the same ability to grieve openly due to the actions of their son. Therefore, special security precautions had to be made so that the family could be with their son one final time. When Sue came face to face with her son’s body lying in the casket, his expression was unfamiliar. Later, Sue comments on how seeing her son look so unusual actually helped her in the moment, as she had not yet come to terms with all that Dylan had done in the final moments of his life.
