Summary

In Chapter 16, Fatma dreams of the masked man, ghuls, and Ifrit before jerking away. Two days after the attack on the Ministry, Cairo is struggling. Riots erupted. Protestors accuse the government of conspiracies as they unite for the imposter. Fatma calms herself by thinking of Siti and the watch her father made that is meant to guide her where she needs to go. It is revealed that no one from the ministry died, but Zagros has not revealed why he turned on them. Fatma’s own investigation into Lord Worthington has been mostly abandoned and leadership will not let her pursue Alexander. Furthermore, the Clock of Worlds was built by an angel to open a doorway to a mad dimension with the intention of cleansing humanity.
