Summary

“A Man Called Ove and Social Incompetence” Present tense. Narration describes how Ove and his other neighbors come up with a plan for helping Anita and Rune; how Parvaneh is surprised to see something in Ove’s living room – something he’s taken down from his attic, something he’s repainted, and something that he says can be painted pink if Parveneh’s baby is a girl. Narration eventually reveals it’s a baby cot: meanwhile, Ove is deeply embarrassed when Parvaneh bursts into tears. A short time later, the Man in the White Shirt, accompanied by three nurses, arrives to take Rune into custody.
