Chapters 1 through 3 Summary and Analysis
On December 9, 2009, the Duggar household included seventeen children living at home. By the writing of this book, Josh had married and was living away from home. The children were expecting the arrival of an Australian film crew as they got dressed and prepared for the day. There would be homeschool assignments and regular chores to be completed. The younger children had note cards to remind them of what they had to do that day. But Michelle, who was pregnant with their nineteenth child, began to experience pain. Jim Bob called the doctor who directed them to the hospital. Jim Bob and Michelle left for the hospital, leaving the older children and Grandma Duggar in charge.
